Flamingo
Lost
Spring– Stories of Stolen Childhood (Anees Jung)
Theme
The chapter's main concern is the perpetual
poverty of certain social groups and practices that compel children from
disadvantaged backgrounds to lead lives of exploitation. They are caught in a
never-ending cycle of poverty and oppressions. The two stories that the author
tells show the miserable condition of street kids who are pushed into servitude
at a young age rather than attending school. These people's miseries are made
worse by society's prejudice.
