to friend-An interesting book you have read.

Q) you are Nidhi. Write a letter to your friend and tell her about An interesting book you have read.

Examination Hall
20th Oct, 2011.

Dear Richa,

Hello! How are you! We are happy here and hope the same for you. I received your letter recently. I want to tell you about a wonderful book.
Last month I came across a book in library. I read a small review from its flap. It stirred my mind so much that the next day, I rushed to market, purchased a copy of it and stared its reading. The book was “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill. It’s a world renowned book. Napoleon Hill spent many years of his life to meet and interview the most successful people of the world.  He discovered a truth that lays behind all success stories across the borders and cultures. He proposed that “Anything that a human mind can conceive and believe can become reality”. This concept is soul searching. It   encourages that we need to develop capacity to think, to think big and think clearer. Our target should be crystal clear and our belief should be rock strong. We should not worry about resources and struggle.  This book is a real jewel of my small collection of books.
Please convey my regards to uncle, aunty and love to Chintoo.

Dear Richa,

Hello! How are you! We are happy here and hope the same for you. I received your letter recently. You wanted to know about my views on reading.
We gain knowledge in our life by experience or study. Under study comes reading, listening, watching and writing. Out of these reading is the best skill to acquire maximum knowledge. We can read with our own pace. We can pause to ponder. Most of precious knowledge of any society is stored in the books that can be penetrated and gained only by a mind trained in reading. We should develop habit of reading by going through books and other print material on variety of subjects. Nowadays there is focus on tuitions, coaching, CDs and smart classes. This is diverting the attention from reading. It is not good in long run as practice of self study is diminishing in students. They are dependent on others to gain knowledge. A student must develop habit of reading and self study.

Please convey my regards to uncle, aunty and love to Chintoo.

to friend-views on advertisements

Q) you are Nidhi. Write a letter to your friend and tell her about your views on advertisements.

Dear Richa,

Hello! How are you! We are happy here and hope the same for you. I received your letter recently. You wanted to know about my views on advertisements.
Advertisements have both commercial and advertisement values. In a Capitalistic economy advertisement play very important role. They make the customer aware of the product. They help in branding the product. They even create new customers. We can see advertisement in all electronic media like T.V and radio, print media like newspaper and magazines and public places like railway stations and bus stands etc. Nowadays internet is yet another powerful platform for advertisement. Mobile ads through SMSes are also gaining popularity. Advertisements also create jobs for many adverting agencies, actors, editors etc. It will not be an exaggeration if we say that all TV channels, radio, newspaper, magazines, sports events and many other functions are running because of earning from the advertisements. But advertisements also have negative aspects like increasing cost of product, misguiding, putting pressure on consumers. With some checks and balance like creating awareness among consumers and making some laws in favor of them, advertisements are good for economy.

Please convey my regards to uncle, aunty and love to Chintoo.

Subà issue of non- biodegradable plastic

Respected sir,
Through your esteemed newspaper I want to draw attention of concerned authorities towards problem of non- biodegradable plastic. I am president of RWA – kailashpur and fighting with this problem for last five years.
Plastic is an environment Hazard. Polythene bags are polluting, land, water, and air because they are non- biodegradable. A plastic bag if buried in soil will remain there intact even after hundreds of years. Plastic is impermeable to water and air. Hence water cannot percolate down the plastic sheet and it also deprives the soil of the oxygen. Thus it deteriorates the fertility of the land. Plastic is lighter than water and floats on the its surface. It stops mixing of vital Oxygen from air to water. It is lethal for aquatic life. Plastic can neither melt in water nor degrade in soil. It is very difficult to get rid of it. Even burning causes air pollution as many poisonous gases are produced in the process. Thinner than 5 micron plastic is especially harmful because if it is mixed in the soil, it cannot be picked. We must ban its uses.

I expect that you will understand the gravity of the problem. Kindly provide some space in your newspaper.

Thanking you

Yours sincerely

to friend-about your favorite TV program

Q) you are Nidhi. Write a letter to your friend and tell her about your favorite TV program.

20th Oct, 2011.

Dear Richa,

Hello! How are you! We are happy here and hope the same for you. I received your letter recently. You wanted to know about my favorite TV program.
There is a flood of T.V. serials these days because of multichannels. But all programs are not of same standards. My favorite program is “Balika vadhu” of “colours “channel. It raises an important social issue-the child marriage. In many parts of India child marriage is still practiced. Children are married in very small age. This not only affects their education but spoils their whole life. Through the story of “Anandi” this serial depicts the problems emerged in this system. Only stringent laws can’t stop the child marriage. Public awareness is necessary. Government should focus on the education especially adult education in the backward areas where problem is more rampant. By making this kind of series T.V can play very important role is social awakening.

Please convey my regards to uncle, aunty and love to Chintoo.

Subà issue of inflation

Respected sir,
Through your esteemed newspaper I want to draw attention of concerned authorities towards problem of inflation. I am president of RWA – kailashpur and fighting with this problem for last five years.
Inflation is a big problem of developing countries and India is not an exception. In the last decade prices have raised many folds. Inflation hits the poor and the middle class man the hardest. Problem has become more challenging because mostly all essential commodities like food grains, vegetables, fruit, clothes and other daily use items have become costly. Purchasing power of people is decreasing. Demand for goods is decreasing. Hence manufactures are also suffering. Government should intervene before job-cutting starts. It can take form of recession any time which is deteriorating for the economy. Government should create jobs especially in rural regions. It should control prices of essential commodities through public distribution system. In a democratic and poor country it is the duty of government to save the citizens from high inflation.

I expect that you will understand the gravity of the problem. Kindly provide some space in your newspaper.

Thanking you

Subà issue of dowry system

Respected sir,
Through your esteemed newspaper I want to draw attention of common people towards problem dowry system. I am president of RWA – kailashpur and fighting with this problem for last five years.
Dowry system is a curse on our society. It has taken very dangerous form in modern time. Dowry can be defined as the gifts given by bride’s family at the time of marriage to the groom’s family. But now it is not just a gift. It is a demand and demand is mounting day by day. Many girls remain unmarried for the want of dowry. Many others have to face the difficult time in the house of in-laws. This system has many other manifestations also like female child feticide, malnutrition in girls, distorted sex ratio etc. A society, which cannot respect its women, can’t grow. We should uproot this bad custom by strict laws and public awareness. Boys also have an important role in it. They should have courage enough to oppose this inhumane practice.

I expect that you will understand the gravity of the problem. Kindly provide some space in your newspaper.

Thanking you

Yours sincerely
