Q1) What effect did Miss Mason’s reading of the letter from
Wanda’s father have on Maddie and Peggy? What did they think of doing?
Ans1) Wanda’s father wrote a letter to Miss Mason, the class
teacher. The teacher read the letter in the before the students. Wanda’s father
was unhappy with the behaviour of students towards his children. He wrote that
Wanda would not come to the school any more because the students make fun of
her. This letter was so sentimental tht it compelled the Maddie and Peggy to
think about their behavior. Maddie could not focus herself in studies. She was feeling
guilty of not taking any action. Peggy was finding excuses for her behavior.
She consoled herself that she never made fun of Wanda’s name. But at heart
Peggy was not happy. Maggie decided to accompany Peggy to see Wanda. They
wanted to say sorry for their misbehaviour.
