 The Thief's Story.

Ans) Hari singh knew that Anil trusted him. Anil taught him cooking and writing his name. Anil promised to teach him writing full sentences. Hari singh thought if he would be literate, he would earn money and respect both. Moreover simplicity and generosity of Anil compelled him to go back.

Ans) Here “I” stand for Hari singh. He was a thief. He changed his name every month to stay ahead of police and his previous employers.
