Ans) Grammar section needs two level of preparation

a)    Learn grammatical rules for the topics mentioned in the syllabus.
b)    Practice lot of exercises. You must go through the last year questions as well.

Q12) How to prepare for the Story writing /the guided writing?

Ans) Story writing checks the imaginative power of a student. You have to cook a story around the given situation. Most of the time question is open ended. For example

 Q) Once a little girl was going to her aunt’s house. She lost her way and it fell dark. She was alone on the road. Suddenly………………..
Complete the story in about 200 words.

You can develop this story in any direction. Like
a)    She saw some persons. They kidnapped her and……………….
b)    She saw some persons. They helped her and……………..........
c)     She saw her aunt and…………………………
d)    She saw a ghost. It was a good ghost who took her to his house……………
There are endless lines of stories you can use.

How to practice for such stories?

One simple technique is to do “free writing”. In this, we keep writing on a topic or situation without much bothering about the grammar, sentence structure, sequencing of ideas etc. Write whatever come to your mind, only thing is that it should be around the topic. Purpose is to get a feeling that you can write on any topic, with of course some mistakes. With practice your ideas will be more close to the topic and story will become smoother.

Q13) How to prepare for the letters/ applications in 9th and 10th classes?

Ans) In 9th class syllabus we have “Informal letters” and in 10th class syllabus we have “Formal letters”.

Now start second round of reading. This time underline the possible answers to the questions that you have read in first round. Observe the key words in the questions. Look for these words in the passage. If you find these words in the passage, use the entire line that contains these words as your answer.
